In the current judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran the prison is a place to take brutal revenge upon political dissidents.

In the current judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran the prison is a place to take brutal revenge upon political dissidents.
For example the Rejaii Shahr prison has the worse hygiene and lacks even the most basic medical equipment, to the extent that the most elementary first aid equipment is not even available.

In one of the prison unit’s the holding areas are 100 square meters and the total number of prisoners held in this unit can be up to 120 people with no beds therefore they have to take turn sleeping on the ground. These cells lack any sunlight since the windows have been blocked by bricks and no hot water is available for bathing and cleaning. The circulation is very poor. These prisoners can only have access to medical attention once a month.

Each physician can only prescribe three form of drugs and those are usually pain relievers. The most needed and important medical attention is dental which not only has the longest wait but is so expensive the prisoners/patients have a hard time getting this much needed attention.

Political prisoners are held by 4 in 5 square meter cells (again with no bed) and no military laws are abided here either.

Those prisoners who are sadists and murderers are also held with political prisoners and no medical or sports facilities are available to either one of them.

The prison environment is infiltrated by drug mafia and crack is easily available to the prisoners. There is no guarantee for the safety of these prisoners what so ever. The diet is unhealthy and not up to event the most basic nutritional standards. Poverty and hunger reach its height. The drinking water in not purified and full of parasite.

There is only one are of this prison that is up to code and that is the one where the theologists are held and where international media and organizations are taken for inspections.

The prison staff are very rude and treat the prisoners with force and brutality and the rate of suicide amongst prisoners is on the rise.

Political prisoners are kept under the guises of thieves and rioters. There are no accurate count on the number of these political prisoners so when they are killed… International Organizations won’t be able to trace them to these prisons and the government and prison staff won’t be held accountable for them.

The Rejaii Shahr prison is the exile for all political prisoners and their families are under constant pressure. They are only allowed a 20 minute visitation every 15 days and all their meetings are monitored.

For your information we are listing the names of a few of the political prisoners being held at this prison:

Khaled Hardani
Shahin Arya Nejad
Nasser Kheir Allahi
Behrooz Javid Tehrani
Amir Saran

human rights

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all freedom lovers and freedom seekers struggling for the freedom of Iran on this eve of the spring season when nature is renewing itself and setting an example that there will always be new beginnings and that one shall never give up and lose faith on the formation of the 86 National Movement. We the political prisoners of Iran deem it necessary to thank all political and human rights activists who have come to our aid and been our voice during these difficult and challenging times. We would like to take this opportunity to ask all prisoners no matter their political beliefs or religious beliefs to hold a candlelight vigil on the eve of 1/21/86 at 8 pm to honor all those we have lost along the way. We would also like to call for a moment of silence at the same time.. We have also announced to all opposition groups outside Iran our intention to start a hunger strike and request all labor organizations and syndicates (teachers, laborers, students, doctors, engineers, nurses….) to come to our support so that we can shed more light on the horrendous conditions and the torture, executions and killings in our prisons and judicial system. We are in great need of support from opposition groups both inside and outside, the different NGO’s and the Iranian and International Press.
We greatly appreciate your help in raising our voice.

Iranian political prisoners on hunger strike have been beaten!

Life and death situation for at least one of the 39 political prisoners on hunger strike in Iran which started on April 7, 2007

On April 22, 2007, political prisoner Mr. Khalid Hardani was carried to the medical center of Rajai Shahar prison by two of his inmates Mr. Nasser Khirolahi & Shahin Aryanejad, due to Mr. Khaled Hardani, heart conditioning. Mr. Khaled Hardani who has been transferred sometimes ago from Evin Prison to Rajia Shahar, his heart medication has been denied. His physical well being is worsening day after day.

The hunger strike is a way for the political prisoners who have absolutely no way to let people around the world to know their conditions, to let them know that due to lack of attention from UN Representatives and Amnesty, Mr. Khaled Hardani another 38 other political prisoners from all number of prisons could possibly die.

In the clinic, Mr. Khaled Hardani was not allowed to see a physician and when they refused to end the strike, they were savagely beaten inside the clinic, in full view of medical staff, by professional torture master Aslan Beghi. Neither man received any medical care, neither for the hunger strike's physical effects, nor for the effects of physical torture. They were, instead, dragged back to their filthy cells to recover on their own from the savage beatings.

Mr. Hardani, whose cardiac condition requires medication, has received no medication for his heart condition from prison medical officials since his transfer from Evin nearly 2 months ago.

Repeated letters and calls to officials of Amnesty International by Ghazal Omid (www.ghazalomid.com), Iranian dissident and the official spokesperson for 19 of the 39 political prisoners, have not been returned. UN Human Rights Commission member states have also not responded to repeated calls for intervention.
